The Northwest Territories (NWT) include all mainland Canada north the Yukon Territory and Hudson Bay. It also includes the islands between the mainland and the North Pole. Eighteen of these islands are larger than Prince Edward Island, and the largest island, Baffin Island, is twice as big as Great Britain. The NWT is one-third all of Canada's land area.
