Dominica is one of the smallest countries in the Western Hemisphere, and is located in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea. Roseau is the capital and the main port. Dominica is mountainous and volcanic, covered with forests. Its rivers are not navigable. The average temperature is 26 C (79 F) and rainfall is as much as 6,350 mm (250 inches) in the mountains, the highest of which is Morne Diablotin (1,447 meters/ 4,747 feet).
