Travel Health

Health maintenance organizations (HMOs) are health insurance companies and providers of health services, provided by one company and under one policy. An HMO negotiates terms for services for a group of workers, and then provides the services for individuals within the work group. HMOs own health centers for providing their own care, or it contracts hospitals and centers to meet the need. Within its health center or contracts with centers or hospitals, the HMO also provides other services, such as dentistry, pharmaceutical drugs, radiology, mental care, and preventive care, according to the needs of the work group it provides for.
