Caribbean Wildlife and Safaris

The two major reasons for establishing a wildlife refuge are to protect animals that have become significantly reduced in number and to improve the habitat so animals will breed and grow in number. Traditionally, a wildlife refuge has been a marked area of land or water where hunting, trapping, trespassing, and fishing are forbidden or restricted. Under contemporary use a wildlife refuge is more inclusive; several national wildlife refuges now permit managed hunting, fishing, and trapping on selected areas of the refuge land. Most wildlife refuges are under governmental programs, but others are established by private individuals and organizations. Here are sites that relate to wildlife and safaris in the Caribbean.
