Redwood National Park

Redwood National Park, authorized by Congress in 1968, lies along the Pacific coast in northwestern California near the Oregon border. It has an area of 110,232 acres. Contained within the park are three California parks: Jedediah Smith Redwoods, Prairie Creek Redwoods, and Del Norte Coast Redwoods. Redwoods, the world's tallest trees, often grow to more than 300 feet; the Tall Tree stands 368 feet. Wildlife in the park includes moose, deer, cougars, and bears. Whales, sea lions, and seals can be seen offshore.
