Little River Canyon National Preserve

The Little River Canyon National Preserve protects 35 miles of the Little River that flows atop Lookout Mountain in northeastern Alabama. The preserve is home to one of the most extensive canyon systems of the Cumberland Plateau. The preserve also provides a harbored habitat for a unique variety of plant and animal life. The area is noted for its scenic vistas and it has become a popular destination for boaters and adventurers. The white water sections of the river are generally considered to be world class.
