Grant Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site

The Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site was dedicated in 1972 and is the preserved site of the historic Grant-Kohrs ranch. The ranch was originally owned by Johnny Grant, from 1862 until 1866. The ranch was later acquired by Conrad Kohrs, who held the ranch until 1927. One of Montana's earliest cattle ranches, the National Historic Site still holds nearly 10 million acres of land and there are livestock and cattle still grazing on the lands. The ranch is a reminder of the huge cattle industry that dominated that Montana region through the 1800s and early 1900s. Below are links that provide information about the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site.
