Fort Larned National Historic Site
The Fort Larned National Historic Site is located in Larned, Kansas and stands on the grounds of the fort that would become the principal outpost for U.S. soldiers defending the Santa Fe Trail. The visitor center that is located at the Fort Larned National Historic Site offers a museum, a slide program, and a bookstore. Some of the restored areas of the fort offer reconstructed barracks, officers' quarters, a hospital, and other buildings that once functioned at the fort.
