Big Hole National Battlefield

Big Hole National Battlefield is a memorial to the people who fought and died here on August 9 and 10, 1877. The battle that took place at this site was waged by the combatants of a five-month conflict that came to be known as the Nez Perce War of 1877. Big Hole National Battlefield is one part of the Nez Perce National Historical Park, a unique park that consists of 38 different sites in the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
