Tennis, which is also referred to as lawn tennis, is a popular international racket-and-ball sport on both recreational and competitive levels. It is played on an indoor or outdoor court and consists of two players or two teams of couples hitting a rubber ball back and forth over a net within the boundaries of the opposite side of the court.
