Equestrian & Horse Riding

Horse riding and equestrian activities involve various techniques for controlling a horse's gait, speed, and direction as well as a familiarity with equine equipment, or tack, and horse training and grooming. The introduction of the harness and other controlling devices contributed greatly to the development of different riding styles and the use of horses in rodeos, sports competitions, racing events, and recreational activities. Equestrian competitions can be traced back to the early Olympic Games and many horse events are also held on local, regional, and national levels every year throughout the world. This section features various resources on horse riding.
