Aviation Training and Certification

Aviation and aeronautics are terms that refer to the development and operation of vehicles that are known as aircraft because they are either lighter or heavier than the air. Among the lighter-than-air vehicles are balloons and airships that are powered by helium, methane, hydrogen, or hot air. These aircraft are mostly flown today for recreational and competitive purposes. Heavier-than-air vehicles include gliders, helicopters, airplanes, and homebuilt and ultralight aircraft. These aircraft are used for military, business, and commercial purposes as well as for various air shows and racing competitions throughout the world. This section focuses on aviation training and certification.
