Lumberjack

Lumberjack & timber related sports. Lumberjack and timber related sports consist of competitive events in which participants use such tools as axes, chain saws, and cross cut saws to chop through logs. Those who cut through the logs the fastest are the winners. Timber related sports are popular in such countries as Norway, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Organizations like the American Lumberjack Association were formed to oversee such competitions. While both international and national lumberjack competitions had been staged for many years, they surged in the 1970s and today are regularly covered on cable sports networks. This section focuses on timber related sports.
