Korfball

Korfball is a sport similar to basketball, except that the game involves two teams of 4 men and 4 women that play on a badminton-sized court and try to shoot a ball comparable to a soccer ball into a net without a backboard. The offense and defense zones are each occupied by two men and two women from both teams and players switch positions after two goals are scored. Korfball was invented in 1901 by an Amsterdam schoolmaster and today is played in such countries as Spain, Japan, India, Australia, Indonesia, and the United States. This section focuses on korfball.
