Bullfighting
Bullfighting is a sport involving a bullfighter, or matador, that provokes and fights a bull in a public arena by waving a red cape, whereby forcing the animal to charge. Although bullfighting is the most popular in Spain, where it is the national sport, it is also a favorite spectator activity in Mexico and other parts of Latin America as well as in Portugal and southern France. Bullfighters originally rode horses until a common Spanish laborer killed a bull with a sword while on foot. These days, matadors do not kill the bull.
