Boomeranging

Boomerangs are curved throwing sticks originally developed for hunting and fighting by Aborigines in such areas of Australia as central Queensland and western New South Wales. The most popular type of boomerang is the one that returns to the thrower. The kind of boomerang used for fighting, which does not return to the thrower, is sometimes thrown so that it ricochets off the ground or other surface to strike its target. Today, Aborigines still use boomerangs for hunting and fighting and there are also several sporting competitions held throughout the world. This section focuses on various boomerang associations and organizations.
