Teaching Computers and the Internet
Use of the Internet has grown, especially in the past few years. Computer use has grown at a greater pace since their introduction in the early 1980s. By the mid-1990s, 4.5 million computers were in use in elementary and secondary schools throughout the U.S. Computers are essential for learning and teaching for a variety of reasons, including data storage, research, and necessity of use, as technology is increasing its domination in the business world.
