Women's Studies and Reference

Women's studies are the academic curriculum focusing on the roles and contributions of women in fields such as literature, history and the sciences. Many colleges and universities offer women's studies programs, which can include courses on feminism, discrimination, women in business, sexual harassment in the workplace and women’s public policy and leadership activities. Oftentimes, women's studies programs can include special exhibits, archives, conferences and seminars that are sponsored by colleges and universities and other organizations. This section covers libraries and archives that feature resources on women's studies located throughout the United States and around the world at colleges, universities and other facilities.
