Librarians & Librarian Resources

A library is a place in which literary and artistic materials, such as books, periodicals, newspapers, pamphlets, prints, microforms, tapes and compact discs, are housed for reading, reference or lending. Similar to libraries, archives consist of places in which public records or historical documents are preserved. Libraries can take the form of smaller facilities found in schools, public libraries that are accessible to everyone and large libraries that cater to businesses, the media and various professions. Even though modern libraries must deal with large cutbacks in public funding and government support, some larger facilities are adding services such as online access systems. This section focuses on online librarian resources from around the world that are organized by and accessible to librarians, archivists and media specialists.
