Internships & Summer Internship Programs
Most summer jobs and internships are completed during the summer months, when students can work full-time in a field related to their major for eight to ten weeks. Internships are excellent because job markets are highly competitive; to land a position, a job-seeker needs more than a degree. Related experience is the primary factor employers use when hiring. The experience gained through an internship or summer program is invaluable: a good intern may receive a glowing letter of recommendation; and sponsors often use the internship program to try out prospective employees.
