Religion and Religious Studies Teaching Materials

Teaching is dissemination of information or skills to others. The teaching process can be greatly broadened to include computers, textbooks, or educational television. Religion is a complex phenomenon that has almost as many definitions and theories as there are authors on the subject. Generally, there are two approaches to the scholarly study of religion: the historical and the phenomenological. The historical approach deals with texts. The phenomenological study is directed toward discovering the nature of religion. Education programs often follow proscribed religious views.
