Multiuser Dungeons (MUD)
MUDs, or Multi-user Dungeons, are accessible through a variety of Web sites and are perhaps better known as 3-D worlds or chat worlds. A MUD is a structured social experience on the Internet based on a loosely-organized context or theme, such as a rambling old castle with many rooms or a historical period. Participants assume the persona of a character throughout the game. MUDs include ongoing adventure and educational games, while others that are simply social experiences. The links included herein relate to MUDs.
