Entertainment and Educational Software
Developing software for entertainment and educational use involves the integration of photo-realistic graphics, full-motion video, CD-quality sound, and 3D to model their games after the real world. Time-consuming programming and limited capabilities have been replaced by game development APIs. For example, most commercial games that have been developed for Windows 95, 98 & NT use the Direct X APIs. Direct X is a collection of game APIs that allow programmers to use special hardware, such as joysticks, without having to incorporate special code.
