Usenet Newsgroups
Think of Usenet as a worldwide bulletin board system with over 10,000 forums. Usenet is also referred to as newsgroups and listservs. The Usenet process was invented in 1979 as an experiment to create a method to post and read news messages and notices delivered to subscribers over the Internet. Usenets have become one of the main things people read and contribute to on the Internet. A manager of the Usenet forum compiles all the responses each day and posts them on the Internet where readers can view the responses and post additional comments.
