Telnet

Telnet is another way to connect to a series of computers on the Internet. The term stands for Terminal Emulation and refers to communicating to a host computer over a network instead of one computer connecting directly to another computer. A telnet connection is made by typing "telnet servername." When the Telnet connection is completed, the operator of the remote computer can issue commands and run programs on the host computer as if the keyboard and mouse were directly connected to the host computer.
