Encryption & Privacy

The science of cryptology pertains to the study of cryptography, the secret writing or communications in code or cipher, also referred to as the process of encryption. Over time, cryptography has become an increasingly controversial aspect of communications, thus resulting in extensive government regulation. In 1991, Phil Zimmerman became the target of export violations by the government when he created and globally dispensed the email encryption program called Pretty Good Privacy (PGP). The case was eventually dismissed and now the software is one of the most widely used email encryption programs in the world. This section covers links dealing with PPG. The links contained herein offer information about encryption and privacy.
