Computer Industry Issues and Problems

A wide range of issues has been raised by the technological advances in computers and the Internet. Government, industry, academia, advocacy groups, and individuals are all trying to analyze and recommend courses of action that will legislate the new technologies without infringing on individual civil liberties. Some of the issues that have been raised include privacy in cyberspace, censorship, and free speech--particularly concerning the access of minors to sexually explicit sites and copyright and intellectual property rights.
