Printers & Printer Reviews
A printer records written script, numerical data, or graphics on paper. There are two main types of printers: impact and ink-jet printers. Impact printers have fixed characters attached to moveable arms that strike against an inked ribbon and paper to produce letter-quality print, like a typewriter. The dot-matrix printer, also an impact printer, uses small pegs to make a series of dots on paper and can form graphics. Ink-jet printers fire small bursts of ink at the paper. They share the flexibility of dot-matrix printers and operate more quietly. In addition, ink-jet printers can be adapted to complex color printing.
