Gay and Lesbian Parents Associations and Organizations

Homosexuality, referred to as lesbianism for women, is a sexual preference that from all indications appears to be inherently or genetically determined. Homosexual men and women prefer same-gender sexual partners. While the traditional family consists of a married man and woman and their children, the alternate lifestyles that have become more acceptable throughout the late 20th century and into the 21st century has, to some extent, redefined the term "family." During this time frame, homosexual couples have increasingly become parents and raised children within the context of such "alternate" lifestyle families.
