Many children are forced to cope with chronic illness. Too often, youngsters so affected must cope with stigma as well as illness. Teasing often accompanies this stigma for children who are able to attend school, and adds an additional layer of pain to their experience of childhood. This not only affects the children who look or act or feel different, but all of the children involved.
