Events & Holidays

A holiday is a day set aside for special observance, either religious or secular. Holidays are often marked by public festivities, such as parades and religious services, as well as by rest and recreation. In many places, important religious holidays have official sanction, and are recognized days of rest from work. Examples are the Christian holy day of Christmas and the Jewish observance of Yom Kippur. Patriotic national celebrations are major nonreligious holidays, internationally. If you have a holiday coming up soon, the links on this page will show you new and traditional ways to observe and celebrate.
