Children - Movies and Television
Children's television & movies for kids. The motion picture was developed in the 1890s from the union of still photography, persistence-of-vision toys, and the magic lantern. Four major film traditions eventually developed: fictional narrative; nonfictional documentary; animation and avant-garde film. From the 1950s until the mid-1970s the technology available to the TV audience consisted essentially of a TV set. Recently there has been an explosion of new devices for home entertainment, and the entire field is now referred to as video. Both movies and video continue to fascinate children and adults alike.
