Literature Awards and Prizes
Literary awards, book awards and prizes. Awards and prizes are tangible tokens of the respect humanity bears for those who do special things, or do ordinary things in special ways. Competition promotes extra effort on the part of the competitors, to be faster, stronger, or smarter than their fellows. Literary competitions, the rewards for which vary from humble (but useful) cash, to the esteem and veneration of one's peers, have long sparked extra efforts from the writers and poets of our communities.
