Transportation and Shipping Industry

The transportation industry, consisting of a number of different transportation methods, is so large that an index of transportation companies (the Dow Jones 20 Transportation stocks) is maintained in order to keep investors and economists abreast of financial developments. Among the most popular sub-categories within the industry are airlines, which in recent years have engaged in price wars in an attempt to win market share. Airlines have also found themselves riddled with problems, such as strikes, that are deemed so serious that talk of government intervention had been discussed. The links included herein relate specifically to the transportation and shipping industry.
