Whether in the midst of a bull market or bear market, investors, money managers, brokers, and institutions who engage futures and options trading closely monitor the charts and quotes of the investments that they have recommended or purchased. With the prevalence of fundamental and technical data in archives, provided by various services, and on the Internet, the quote is still the most basic indicator that an investor may monitor, letting him or her know what the option or futures contract is doing in real time.
