Bonds & Bond Investing
Information on bonds, bond investing and fixed income investments. A bond is a debt, offering more ready cash for a company in shortage situation, or a government in need of extra project money, or other groups needing immediate funds for an extended length of time, with interest. Corporate bonds are backed, usually by assigned business assets, land, buildings, etc. Municipal bonds, however, come in two forms, general obligation and revenue. Each offers different security, from governmental authority in taxation, and income from bond projects, respectively. There are other variations, such as bearer bonds, until 1983, and registered bonds, where the issuer keeps account of who holds the bond.
