MBA Degrees and Programs

The tradition of awarding Master's and Doctor's degrees developed out of reception of the advanced student into the Teacher's Guild at the University of Paris in the 13th century. Gradually, this became true of other teaching institutions across Europe, and was accepted as a measurement of scholarly achievement. A Bachelor's degree, which was awarded after successful completion of the initial part of the curriculum, indicated that the student, if he continued his studies, was qualified to serve as an apprentice to a fully-qualified teacher while continuing to advance his own education.
