Marxist & Socialist

The economic theories of Karl Marx were based on the idea that the capitalist system and free market economies would lead to terrible depressions and eventual revolution by the working class. Marx outlined his economic beliefs in 'Das Kapital', in which put forth his view of human history as a constant struggle between the working class and the ruling class. Marx believed that government should control all property and industry and that the working people should all be compensated equally for their efforts. In the 'Communist Manifesto', Marx and co-author Friedrich Engels presented the foundation for a socio-economic ideology that would eventually evolve into communism.
