Policy Analysis

Economic policy analysis & forums. Economic policy represents the co-mingling of pure economic theory with politics, and further signals the often fascinating combination of the positive analysis of economists with the normative analysis of politicians. In short, economists think in non-biased terms and use formulas and data to determine the most efficient use of resources. Politicians, on the other hand, must be concerned with the needs of constituents, and cannot always implement the most efficient policy. This is especially so if the positive analysis of economists, and the policy it would naturally suggest, is obviously detrimental to the well being of a specific section of society. It is the interaction of economists and politicians, and normative and positive analysis, that determines the economic policies of nations.
