International & World Trade

Perhaps the most important aspect of international economics is world trade. Because the resources of the world are not distributed equally, it is mutually advantageous for countries to trade resources that they possess in abundance for resources that may be scarce. When nations trade and buy and sell goods from one another, there are usually several types of currency that become involved. Because of this, international rates of exchange for currencies have been established to help make business transactions among nations easier.
