Economics College & University Departments
Economics, a relatively new discipline, is the study of the allocation of scarce resources. A social science, economics is frequently associated with business and business decision-making. Adam Smith, an 18th century philosopher, is typically thought of as the first economist, and published his book, 'Wealth of Nations', in 1776. Since then, the study of economics has developed steadily, with new economic paradigms rising, including Classical theory, Marxism, Keynesianism, and Neoclassical theory. Economics is especially important in modern times as the policies and practices of governments with regard to monetary and economic policy are often determined by the positive analysis of economists. Listed here are various colleges and universities with noteworthy economics programs.
