Impressionism Art and Impressionist Painting
Impressionist art and paintings, history of impressionism art. Impressionism emerged as a reactionary movement against both the academic tradition and Romanticism in the late 19th century. The movement is most commonly associated with the works of Claude Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir, and their artistic associates of the era. The term Impressionism refers to the impression that is stamped on the senses by a visual experience that is both fleeting and transitory and is associated with a particular moment in time. Impressionist painting incorporates the use of a variety of brush strokes and bright colors, allowing the artist to be responsive to both the material character and the texture of the object in nature.
