Design Art & Communication Arts

The design arts encompass a variety of individual art forms, among them illustration, interior design, and printmaking. The development of the printing press, which allowed the mass-production of books and later newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, etc., led to the development of illustration in all of these media. In modern times, there has been a proliferation of publications and the growth of print advertising has been tremendous. Another design art form, modern architecture has grown to include interior design among its various phases.
