Glass & Glass Blowing

Resources on glass blowing, glass art and decorative glass. Glass is a colorless substance that is made by heating materials such as sand, sodium carbonate, and limestone. Glass has long been used in the creation of decorative objects. In Egypt, glass was used as a glaze on beads made from either stone or pottery. The process of making glass was perfected in Egypt around 1500. Glass blowing was most likely discovered in Phoenicia, where this advancement led to more types of objects being made from glass. Glass blowing later spread through the Roman Empire, where glassware became rather common. The links included herein relate specifically to glass and glass blowing resources.
