Feminist & Women's Literature
The literature that is categorized as women's or feminist literature often focuses on the struggles of women to achieve and maintain equality in a male-dominated society. As is the case with children's literature, not all works that are considered women's literature were originally intended by their authors to be given that distinction. Where women's literature is associated with equality and fairness, feminist literature often is given the connotation of implying some sort of vengeance or a more radical approach to achieving the goals of women.
