Art Deco is an architectural and decorative-arts style which employs strongly symmetrical and highly stylized natural and geometric forms. The movement was at its peak from 1910 to 1940, with the most notable works of American Art Deco being the Chrysler Building and Radio City Music Hall. Art Deco developed simultaneously with the International Style in architecture and was influenced considerably by the International Style during its final phase. The final phase was characterized by a shift from a more decorative approach to one of boldness and simplicity which was typical of the 1930s.
