I'm a web designer, graphic artist, and specialize in SEO which means adding code to a website that the visitor can't see, that ensures a website will rank well in search engines. Another part of webdesign I often do, is writing content for the webpages and press releases for businesses we work with.
Writing content for a website, brochure or press release yourself can be very difficult. Many more times than I can remember, I have been expected to write content for webpages, when I didn't have any idea about the type of business the website was about. I didn't find it hard though, one or two phonecall to the owner of the business, asking a lot of questions about the business, and a day or so later, I've written the content, ready for the owner to read and check. I'm often amazed how often even the things I wasn't told, and just made up, since it just made sense, are correct, or I just made up because it sounded good, and the owner will be thrilled with what I have said, and the way I said it.
I'm a digital photographer, and do a lot of photo manipulation. I also have a passion for creating photoart, thats when you start with a digitalized photo, and make artwork out of the photo.
I have started and run an image bank online, having over 20,000 images from 45 photographers from all over the world.
I have been an online teacher, for a graphics programme called Photo Impact.
I also work with a team of disabled people, checking new Zealand Government websites for accessibility, believe it or not, I'm dyslexic, and have to use a page reader to read many pages. I'll leave it to you to work out how I manage to write articles. Although you might believe it if you saw my articles before word fixed up the spelling. :)
Interests and Hobbies:
My hobbies are for the main part the same as my professional background.
I have a special interest in addiction to prescription drugs, mental illness and employment issues, and coping mechanisms for people with a variety of hidden disabilities.
I enjoy writing, and when I have time love to play on the computer, mainly in photoshop and illustrator making photoart from one of the many thousand digital photos we have taken over the years.
My greatest love is SEO, I find nothing more satisfying than having a website I have optimised, ranking on the first page of google for many different searches.
