Donnell Carlisle

During my eclectic career life I have been a nurse, dental technician, dental assistant, deputy sheriff, design draftsperson, a carpenter, managed and owned an import shop and a dental laboratory and a poet. I have been a student periodically from 1955 until the present and continue to learn on a daily basis. My life experiences gave me true empathic feelings for my patients... for my oncology patients, I knew how they felt as I am as of this date a 29 year survivor of cancer; for the parents who lost a child, I knew how they felt I lost my third child and only daughter; for my psych. patients who were without treatment I understood, I am bipolar but am treated. Life has a way of preparing us to give what is needed to others to ease their way. Education gives us the basic building blocks, the knowledge to do or perform certain tasks but life is the true teacher.

Interests and Hobbies:
My hobbies are our 6 soon to be 7 cats, gardening, computer games, writing true short stories about the hilarious things our children did and do, writing poetry that expresses the pain and joy of the soul, posing questions to allow people to look deeply within themselves and perhaps let go of bias or prejudice. I also enjoy swimming, public speaking and mentoring my grandchildren. My husband and I are true believers in God and Christ. My studies at present are human to pet communication and psychology. Pets sense their owners moods and needs... I want to know how far this can go. We are active in our church and love our church family.
