Ameen Kader

Born in a small town near Kolkata (Calcutta) in 1979, Syed Ameen Kader, did part of his studies there before finally coming to Mumbai where he completed his post-graduation diploma in Journalism in 2002. He had attended a number of workshops and practical trainings on photography and cinematography. Started career as an assistant to a senior journalist while studying, he worked on various projects related to news reporting and documentary film making. He had gone through a year-long probation at a national TV station before taking up the independent charge of Mumbai Bureau as a news correspondent. It’s the period when he worked as a hardcore TV journalist, doing reporting as well as videography, to cover issues ranging from social, political, business to human interest and women. He writes and takes photographs for a variety of magazines, newspapers and websites. While at the same time he does pre-production research work, interviewing and investigation for documentary films those are made by international filmmakers for National Geographic Channel, Discovery and Channel 4. He has worked with a number of BBC team as an Assistant Producer and fixer. It’s the passion for exploring the diversified world made him travel extensively through out India from his early twenties. Young, vibrant and enthusiastic, he believes in hardworking and dedication. His great enthusiasm is for knowing the diversified world of people, their culture, customs and life style. When not traveling, he is based in Mumbai, where he does freelance journalism for a number of media houses.

Interests and Hobbies:
He loves doing photography, travelling and meeting new people.
