Garth Pottruff

Garth was born with a love for the outdoors, and a passion to make it come alive for others. His life maze of forestry, farming, manufacturing, leadership and wilderness guiding gives him a memoir of experiences to teach from. For those who can't spend a day on the river hiking and paddling with him... his articles are an appetizer of what it is like to be there.

Interests and Hobbies:

Raised on a farm in a close-knit community, educated in one of those Anne of Green Gables one room schools... holder of a Degree in Forestry... worked in tree genetics and woodlot consulting... plus too many years of manufacturing management... farming in between... coming up for air with a family of four sons on the Grand River... was a wilderness guide in southern and northern Ontario... and now founder of the Grand River Rafting Company near Paris, Ontario.
